My first commitment is to crochet whatever items the 2 local Red Cross Agencies tell me they are in need of at any given time. I have the skill and time to do this, and hopefully it will help keep someone warm and cozy.
There is no time limit to this, as long as my fingers work, I will work.
While looking through the local Red Cross site, I saw that they offer CPR classes, and that my community is looking for members for a disaster relief team. They go hand in hand don't they? Great, so there you go, I will be calling them for specifics and to sign on once I am done here!

I'm so glad that I watched President Clinton on TV last night and found out about this. It has rekindled dreams from my youth to help other people. With my last child to be leaving the nest in about a year, I have been pondering my future. I can resurrect my younger me, and fulfill another life dream. So this is only the beginning.

I also am a regular blood donor in my community.
I have set up regular payments to be taken out of my paychecks to be given to three different charities.

Updates

October 27, 2008 - Well now, I haven't made much progress on the crocheting commitment. I have contacted 2 Red Cross Agencies closeby to me. I have the training schedules, and a volunteer application. I just need to shift my own schedule around to fit their training schedule in. Will check back in when I do this.
