The School of St Jude provides free education to bright kids from the poorest families in Tanzania. I run a blog that supports it - www.schoolstjude.blogspot.com

Well-run and successful, the school is one of Africa's best projects. Fighting Poverty Through Education.

Updates

June 17, 2009 - School founder, Gemma Sisia, has just completed an arduous 6 week fundraising trip to Australia to boost funds. The Global Financial Crisis has reduced donations and the school has had to retrench 47 staff. There is a risk that it will have to cut enrolments, leaving bright children to struggle in underfunded local schools that have 70-100 kids per teacher. Time to dig deep folks!

I continue to support the School of St Jude by making monthly donations. In 2008, they opened a second campus and now educate 1,000 children from the poorest homes in Tanzania.
